I grew up in Belmont and have lived in Brookline since 1981. As I social worker for over 35 years, my work with families has included positions in child welfare, adoption, mental health, home health and nursing home consultation. I've specialized in geriatrics for over 17 years.
When my own parents faced a difficult decline, I knew just what to do because of my professional experience. Emotionally, it was overwhelming. I recognized there were many people facing tremendous challenges - not knowing where to turn or how to navigate the system. I started my practice of geriatric care management in 1997 and have gained constant satisfaction planning gentle and dignified services for the elderly and their families.
Whether performing a comprehensive evaluation of mental and physical functioning, screening, arranging and monitoring in-home help, crisis intervention, being a liaison to families at a distance, assisting with decision making over moves to assisted living or nursing homes, the older person’s needs come first.
I have been quoted in The New York Times, Boston Globe, Good Housekeeping, Kiplinger's, Patriot Ledger and The Jewish Advocate.
I love to exercise: swimming at the Brookline pool, walking around the reservoir, playing tennis and horseback riding.
